Dr. Update

The appointment went really well this afternoon, probably the best yet. The Doc did an internal exam but she didn't tell me anything specific about it; like if I had made anymore progress from the last one I had two and a half weeks ago. But, she WAS able to tell me the following:

1. She is VERY impressed with my cervix. She said that it's extremely favorable and that most first time moms do not have that kind of luck. With that said, she thinks that the labor will be fairly easy. I told her that I am going to take that as a promise and hold her to it.

2. That she was able to feel his head during the exam. She said that it's "right there". She thinks that because his head is slightly on the larger side, that is what is taking a little longer. He has to have time to move down into position. She told me to continue my squats and to keep walking.

3. We discussed what she would like me to do in the event that my water breaks before contractions begin. Since this is not something I anticipate to happen, I did not asked her about it before today. However, because we are approaching the weekend I wanted to cover my bases and go over the protocol with her.   She basically told me the same information that I would have assumed, but it was nice to hear it from her. I would like to make sure that we are on the same page with things.

My next appointment is Monday morning. I made my appointments well in advance and it just so happened that today's appointment was originally scheduled for this past Monday but was rescheduled for today (Thursday). What I am trying to say, is that all of my August appointments were scheduled for every Monday. It just so happens that this next appointment follows closely with this one. If anything, she said that I might end up with two appointments next week depending on how things look Monday.

Ps. I am still hoping for tonight. How awesome would it be to welcome our first son on our 5 year anniversary tomorrow. That would be so special!

Let's go contractions, Let's go!

Yes but if he comes on your anniversary then you will always feel guilty or torn about wanting to do something fun on your anniversary because it's the same day.

Hey he could come on Sunday and share a birthday with Grandma. Or on Monday and share a birthday with my dad. Dear old Uncle David.

Waiting till the 28th doesn't sound so bad now does it?

xo

I think that it would be awesome if he came on our anniversary. When do couples actually celebrate on that day anyways. Especially the older you get... it just becomes a celebration during that month, when you get to it :) lol
