8 Weeks

Well, Today I am officially 8 weeks pregnant. Things are moving very slow :) Though, I would much rather have a very boring, long 9 months than something happen to cause worry and drama.

I haven't had any offcial morning sickness so thats been nice. I had about 2 weeks of nausea but that has faded away. Now I am just stuck with the headaches. They aren't really bad headaches, but they are there.

We are going tomorrow to pick up the Crib and the Dresser. I'll post pictures on another post.

I'll post again soon.. but I just wanted to give an update.

We are having a BABY! (Due Date: 8.28.09)

So… It’s been a VERY long time since I have updated the blog. But I will have you know that life has been very crazy (in mostly good ways) since.

To be honest I can’t tell you much that happened in September 08 –November 08, but December was a very busy month, due to the Holidays and all.

Bryce and I got to enjoy many days spent with Family and friends.

The first weekend in December I enjoyed making Candy Suckers with my mother. Not the kind that you eat, but the kind you can put out in your yard at Christmas. We saw this idea in Garden Ridge and decided to make out own. They added so much to the decorations!

The second weekend in December Me, Bryce, Daniel, Terry, Keegan, Bethany and Phillip all went down to LA to stay with his folks and watch the Christmas Fire Work show that they put on annually. We had a great time. Bryce even won $600 at Boom Town Casino.

The third weekend in December Bryce and I went to Broken Bow, OK to stay in a cabin for a few days. We had a fabulous time and got to reconnect and enjoy each other’s company. It was a well needed get away. I highly recommend the cabins to everyone!

Then there was Christmas Weekend!!!

Starting the 21st, we went to my parents house and had a Gingerbread Man House, decorating party. It was a blast! Everyone did such a great job.
The 22nd, I had to work. But Bryce enjoyed the time off work.
The 23rd, my BFF Liz came over and we started the cooking Marathon. We made homemade Tamales, Mexican Cornbread, Chocolate, Chili Torte with Cayenne Whipping Cream and Chicken Tortilla Soup. Not only did we have fun… but I must say we are phenomenal cooks! Only took us 14 hours this year! But then again, we did take a break to go and see Jason Castro at the church. He sang during our Christmas Service.

On December 24th (Christmas Eve), I woke up on at 7am. I was 5 days “late” and I had been having to tinkle a lot more the last few days and so Bryce and I decided that we were going to take a pregnancy test that morning. When I woke up I had to tinkle really bad so I went to the bathroom. I took the test and the faintest positive line showed up. I was shocked. I had never seen a faint positive in the past so I knew that was a good sign. I went back to the bedroom and told Bryce that I tested and that I got a faint positive. His immediate reaction (still half asleep) was to reach over, grab my hand and put it on my belly). He said “That’s awesome!”. Bryce turned over about 20 minutes later and said “ I can’t sleep anymore, I’m getting up”. We got up and ate breakfast. We talked about it and we looked back on the previous days and it was making more sense to us. I took another cheap (free) test two hours later and it came back the same way… a faint positive line. I got showered and dressed and went to Kroger to get a Digital test. I didn’t believe the other(s). I got home and waited until I had to tinkle again. The twist to the story…My BFF was coming over again that morning at 10am so that we could all go to my moms for Christmas Eve. As I was tinkling she rang the door bell. At the same time Bryce was locked in our room showering and dressing. After a few minutes listening to the dogs bark he finally came out and answered the door. When I opened the bathroom door to apologize for not answering the front door the Digital Test came back “Pregnant”. I told both of them that I had something to show them… they came to the bathroom door and looked at the test. Liz (BFF) screamed with joy and Bryce (almost certain I was pregnant anyways) gave me a big hug and just kept smiling. Liz and I went to the store to buy a card for my parents. I wanted to tell them that day as a Christmas Present. We picked a card that said “Grandma and Grandpa, I wanted to get you something special for Christmas but…. (open card) You already have me”! I signed the card from the baby… and said PS. I will be here around August 29th of next year. My parents (both) cried and screamed. They were SOOOOO excited. It went perfect! We told Bryce’s parents the next day. I think that his oldest sister Holly was the most excited. She has 4 kiddos. She told us that she is glad she won’t be alone anymore and that her kids will finally have cousins. She is mainly excited that she will finally be an aunt. Something that she has never been before.

We had our first Dr. Appointment on January 2nd. He went through the normal procedures and we scheduled the first Sonogram for January 30th. I will be close to 10 weeks then. I have invited my mom to come along since this is her first grandbaby. We are very excited and can’t wait!

Today is January 8th and I have had quite a bit of nausea the last two days. Today not so bad. I am hoping that it will go away but I am certain that I will put up with it cause it’s totally worth it.

I’ll be updating more often so that you can stay “in-the-loop”.
