13 Weeks and Counting!

Hey there… update time!!!!

Bryce and I are in week 13! Can you believe it? For those of you that may not know, we do plan on finding out the gender of the baby but we still have to wait about 6 weeks before they can see anything on the Ultrasound. We hope to find out on Bryce’s Birthday (April 6th) so that will give you an idea of the timeframe in which we are looking at.

Everything with the pregnancy is going great. Couldn’t be better really. I found out why I was having those headaches. Apparently I was deficient in Vitamin C. Once I starting taking more (2500mg a day) they went away.

This past week Bryce and I went to check out the Birthing Center that I had been researching. We LOVED it. After going there and seeing the place in person and meeting the Midwives, it’s AMAZING! I really feel more relaxed and prepared just knowing that I have found a place to have the baby. I’m pretty sure that many of you knew I wanted to go natural. Even in the original hospital setting that was my plan. It’s not that I am completely opposed to having the “drugs” but the way that I react towards some meds is scary and I would like to avoid that if at all possible. I also think that it would feel empowering to know that I was able to have a natural childbirth. Here is a link to the Birthing Center if you would like to check it out.

The good news (for those of you that worry), it’s about 3 house-lengths away from the Entrance to Baylor Hospital. I would be happy to answer questions if people are curious to know more.

During the visit to the BC we got to hear the baby’s heartbeat. When we had the ultrasound at Dr. Behan’s office they were able to see the heartbeat and record it, measure the distance between the beats, etc and get the heartbeat. At 9 weeks it was 161bpm. This time, when we got to HEAR it it was 160bpm.

Also, my tummy is stinking out but I will not share pictures with everyone just yet. In, my opinion, I just look fat. Maybe in a few weeks there will be something “more” to show you.

There are a few websites that I go to on a daily basis that show/tell more about each week of pregnancy. However, this one is one that you all might find neat. http://3dpregnancy.parentsconnect.com/calendar/13-weeks-pregnant.html

Can’t wait to have more good news to share!
Write back if you would like!

11 Week Update

I'm trying really hard to keep everyone up to date. It's much harder than it sounds. I promise.

So far the pregnancy is still going really well. I am 11 weeks along now. I jsut can't believe that 6 weeks have passed since we found out. It feels more like a few days. I guess without the morning sickness and such life continues as normal.

I have however been suffereing with headaches. Many of you already know this because of Facebook. I have only had 2 spells of headaches, but they have each lasted a few days. It seems that it's completely normal and there is no need for worry. Valentines day will end the first Trimester for me... I should be in the clear from then on. Only another week to go. Whew!

Bryce and I have had so much fun together lately. I'm not sure if we just stepped up the date nights for the fun of it or if it's the fact that we KNOW we are having a baby and this is the last little bit of time we will have with just the two of us. Either choice it's nice. Also, lucky for us we have been blessed to have been showered with all sorts of random gift cards lately that help promote and pay for these dates. You just can't get any better than that huh! lol

Also, for those of you that do not know already, I have been working on a scrapbook. A few of you have seen it and then there are others that didn't know I was working on it. I am recording the pregnancy week by week (starting with week 4). It's really turning out nicely. I am having to put alot of information on each page (2 page centerfold) that it's not like some of the traditional scrapbooks. Either way, it's fulfilling it's purpose and I think that it's going to make a great keepsake for the baby. If it's a girl it will probably be a little more apprecitated than if it's a boy. But who knows?!?!

As for Boy and girl.... We are looking forward to find out. I have a lot of people asking me when we should know something. It will probably be around the beginning of April before they can tell what sex the baby is. We are hoping to make the appointment on Bryce's Birthday. He is really looking forward to that.

I think that's about it for now. Not mucu else going on really. Just having fun, relaxing and mental preparing! :)

Write us sometime. We'd love to hear from you.

10 Weeks

10 Weeks and Counting....

So we have about 30 weeks left until we meet ittle and time couldn't be going any slower. We are so anxious to meet our little one and everything has just begun. How do people do this?? (haha)

As many of you know Bryce and I went for our first sonogram on January 30th. Words can't describe how amazing it is to see a human being growing and moving inside of you. Something that God has trusted you to protect, love and raise... It's so very amazing!

They started the appointment with the Sonogram. The tech did an abdominal ultrasound first.  Just as soon as she put the instrument on my tummy you could see the baby. Bryce and I  both could make out exactly what it was. There was no questioning that it was a little baby... It has a head, body, arms and legs. After the tech did what she needed to do (measuring, charting, etc) she left the sonogram on the baby for a minute so that we could just observe. It was moving around, stretching it's arms and legs and turning little summersaults. None of which I could feel because it's so small, but it was still neat to see it move around.

A few facts that we left with...

1. The baby has a heartbeat of 161 bpm (Beats Per- Minute)

2. The due date was changed from August 28th to August 31st. Turns out the baby measured perfectly for 9 weeks 4 days vs. the est date of 9 weeks 6 days.

3. Ittle is VERY active and has very long legs (when they are stretched o

ut).

I think that's about it for now. Here are are a few pictures of Ittle!

Ps. We all call it "ittle"... Everyone kept saying, It'll be this... or it'll be that.... Ittl

e just caught on so that's what we call it!
