Mother's Day Gift.....

Today was fantastic!

As I had mentioned in a previous post, B chose to give me an amazing mother's day present, the only problem was that I was not far enough along in the pregnancy to make it worth scheduling at the time. B wanted to make another 4D sono appointment and he wanted to purchase a Teddy Bear that played Kyah's heartbeat!

We decided to wait until I was past the 30 weeks mark to make the appointment so that we could see our little guy better than the first one we had at 19 weeks. We are SO  thrilled to share with you the precious pictures that we received today! Our little Kyah is just as cute as can be and we are even more eager to meet him and hold him in our arms.  We received another 20 minute video of the little guy as well.

The second part of the gift was a Teddy Bear that plays Kyah's personal heartbeat. It's so soft and sweet and I am sure that Kyah will adore it (just as much as I do).   * I attached a short video clip at the bottom.

I have to say.. I have the most amazing husband any wife could ask for. And Kyah... well, he has a pretty awesome dad waiting to meet him!  Enjoy the pictures!

My Sweet Kyah (31w4d)

Kyah has long toes

Such a sweet sleepy face!

I love his little nose and lips!

Kyah is such a handsome little man!

We were told that the little wavy marks on his head is actually HAIR!

Yes folks...That's right... he has hair!

Additional Updates....

So here are some random updates that I have failed to mention that occurred this last week…

Ready……

IT’S A GIRL! Yes folks, that right. My sister in law (Bryce’s sister) is having a baby girl. Many of you knew that she was expecting but she and Phillip just found out on June 19th that it’s a girl! Her name is Sadie Jane Scott! I’m certain that she will be just as precious as her little name. We can’t wait to meet her on November 19th (or around that date anyways).

Also, Bryce had some family members drive in to attend the shower this past weekend. We enjoyed their company after the shower on Saturday by having a pool party.

We all got back together on Sunday morning to celebrate Fathers day!

( "Happy Father's Day" picture of Me and Daddy-To-Be). I am so blessed!

Even more exciting baby news… we found out that Bryce’s cousin Kalista is expecting a baby too. She is about 7 weeks pregnant. She is due on February 5th! Since she lives in TN we will not get to see her as often but are excited to have what opportunity we can to celebrate with her!

Also, for those of you that are curious... we did receive the "OK" from the Dr. about being on the TLC show, "A Baby Story". However she did mention to me that the hospital might be the only concern. She was not sure if they would agree or not. Either way, I submitted the second portion of the application last week and we are still awaiting a response. I highly doubt that we will hear anything from them and even if we do I don't think that we will be chosen for the program. With that said, I will keep you posted.

Baby Shower

This past Saturday, June 20th I had my first Baby Shower! It was amazing!!! My Aunt Cathie (who is actually an “ex” aunt) came in town to host the shower for me. Since she is not from this area but wanted to make sure everything was convenient, she hosted the shower at my mother’s house. My cousin Anne also arrived in time to help her out. And of course, being at my mother’s house, she had to chime in on the efforts as well. With the three of them working together they did an amazing job. I would never have dreamed to have a shower so gorgeous and wonderful!

Here are a few photos from the Baby Shower:

(My friend Angela and I)

Bryce and I (as well as Kyah) received so many things that I am sure will be such a lifesaver here in the next few months.
- Clothes
- Blankets
- Diapers/Wipes
- Wipes Warmer
- Diaper Bag ( I received 2 personalized diaper bags… SO Cute)
- Bath Accessories/Supplies
- Rainforest Swing
- TV Monitor set
- Many Gifts cards and checks
- and lots of other stuff that I failed to remember

With the Gift Cards that we received to Babies R Us and the checks, we were able to go out and purchase the Changing Pad with a cover, the Play Yard/ Bassinet/Changer and the bouncer.

Since there are 2 more baby showers scheduled I figured that it would be kind to hold off on making any additional purchases so that people have choices.

Thanks again to everyone that attended and made a "contribution" to Kyah’s needs. Also a special thanks to Cathie, Anne and my mother! I love you all! The baby shower far exceeded my expectations!

Wedding and "A Baby Story"...

Sorry so long. Its been crazy-busy as usual.  Here's a brief update on things.....

Bryce and I made a 3 hour drive this past Saturday to see my cousin get married. We left the house around 8:30am and got there around 11:30am. I set up a Candy Station for her reception and then mingled with the family until the wedding began at 1pm. It was  a gorgeous ceremony and the reception was short and sweet. We were back on the road again by 3:15 and made it home in about 2 hours. The GPS found a shorter way home... Go GPS!! We then changed clothes and went to eat at the Iron Chef. Its a great Hibachi place close by. We just wanted to get out and celebrate together and enjoy each others company. (I'm sappy, I know).

(Bryce and I at my cousins Wedding)

Sunday evening I was slightly on the bored side and was trying to think of something to do. The more I sat there the more I thought. After sitting there "thinking" for a while I remembered seeing something on TLC about "A Baby Story" filming here in Dallas. I mentioned it to Bryce and he told me to check it out. I logged on to the TLC website and found the information I was looking for.  There for the next little while I wrote a brief summary of Bryce and I, as well as the pregnancy. I sent the email in and thought that would be it. I really didn't think that much would come from it. I figured that they had tons of emails piling in and probably wouldn't even look at mine.

Yesterday I checked my email and lo and behold  "A Baby Story" had written me back about my inquiry.  They emailed me an application to complete that had questions I had not addressed in my original email to them.  I have completed everything on the application itself but I have to contact my Dr. to see if she would be willing to participate and be seen on TV.  If she agrees then I can submit the application for the approval process.

With that said....

I called the Dr. today and talked to the Office Manager. Obviously this is not a question they get (ever) so she was not sure what all she needed to ask the Dr. We talked for a little bit about the show as she has never heard of it. [SIDE NOTE] How on earth can you work for an OB/GYNO and never hear of  "A Baby Story".... and what women doesn't watch TLC anyways? [END OF SIDE NOTE]. The Office Manager took notes and typed something up for both Doctors to review. Since there is a chance that the back up Dr. will deliver she needs to be in the loop just as much.  I am supposed to hear something back from them tomorrow, however..... I have an appointment with them on Thursday at 9:45am. If I don't hear something back tomorrow then I will talk with her at my appointment.

I'll keep you posted!!!

Feeling sick...

During this past week I have been having waves of nausea that lasted a few minutes here and there. Today however, it just will NOT go away. I left work early to come home and lay down with hopes that it will go bye-bye.  The most upsetting news... I actually threw up for the first time during the pregnancy this afternoon. I was trying to avoid it as much as possible but I thought that maybe... just maybe, if I gave in I would feel better. NOPE! Still feel awful... hence the reason I am at home.

On a brighter note... Friday I will be 29 weeks! Time is really flying by now. I had a dream night before last that I could see Kyah's hands and feet through my tummy when he would push on it. Luckily that was just a dream. I have been feeling his little feet and elbows, etc with my hand but we are not able to see anything from the outside.  Last night I had a dream that I went into labor and the only thing I was focused on was the fact that I had not packed a bag yet and that we have nothing at the house for the little guy besides his bed.  I was panicked to say the least!  Hopefully we will get a few good basics at the baby shower next Saturday (20th).  AND... the other day while I was shopping in Target I bought this adorable robe to wear at the hospital and I also picked some slippers to match. So fun!

I plan on posting more pictures after attending my cousin's wedding this weekend.  In the meantime... I am going to lay down some more.

Room.... What's that?

So I am curious to know why the little "baby-counter-downer-ticker-thing" looks like he is floating in the little bubble with tons of room to spare, while the real baby in my tummy can barley move?? Anyone else wonder that too?

Haha, In all seriousness though, Kyah is SO out of room in there. I barely have a belly button left and he likes to stick his little feet up under my rib cage.  The best part (and I really mean it)...  I still have more time left to grow and he has lots of growing to do. Only 11 weeks and a few days left.  B and I are so excited to meet this little man!

So you can see how I have grown...

(Oh how I want this figure back)....

Me now......

No.... My belly is not crooked... B was a little off centered when he took this picture...

Yard Sale and Stroller Shopping...

Yesterday ended up being quite a busy day. Bryce and I woke up early to set up for a yard sale. UGH... yard sales. I really despise them.  We have been avoiding having one for about a year now. I have given more stuff away to charity or the trash can because I never feel like setting up and having one but, I am tired of giving away or trashing so much stuff that I know I could get money for. With that said, we have planned and postponed yesterdays yard sale for several weeks but finally had to get it done.  My parents also joined us and brought over a few items to sale. We were not really prepared for it, nor were we in the best mood for one. My mom and I were both trying to think of another weekend that we could have one, but the best we could come up with is 5 more weeks from now. Being as I will be 33 weeks pregnant and it would be the middle of July in Texas, it just was not looking very promising. SO.... we had one. It actually worked out well and we made about $200. That's better than trashing stuff right?

We are still trying to decide what "fun" item we would like to use the money for. We are thinking about getting Bryce's car windows tinted a darker shade.  He has a Black 08 Mazda 6. Why they did not tint these windows darker to begin with we will never know, but with a baby on the way that will be sitting in the back seat, we want to make sure that it stays as cool and shaded as possible. We are also thinking that we need to purchase a shade for the top window in the nursery. We have 3 custom shades that are needed for the house so maybe we should use the money for that?? Then we could just hold on to it to see what Kyah might need... Either way everything listed above need to be done so I guess that $200 is just extra and will be spent regardless.

Also, after the garage sale Bryce's parents took us to pick up Kyah's stroller at Babies R Us.  It's a stroller/travel system that we can use from birth and up.  I understand that when he gets older and I have quick errands to run a smaller umbrella stroller will work just as well, but this will get us started and will last several years (and hopefully for the next baby as well). We are SO grateful for them making this big ticket purchase! It definitely does not go unappreciated!

After the stroller purchase we went back to their house and grilled out steaks! I really do have the worlds best in-laws!!!
