Best Ever- Homemade Orange Rolls

Ok, seriously... this is the best breakfast/dessert combo I have ever made. No lie. Mr. Dubs is a mega fan of Orange Rolls and I am a mega fan of Paula Dean. While watching one of her shows (the only show I have set to record- I know I'm pathetic) she featured these amazing Homemade Orange Rolls.  Of course I grab my notebook and start jotting down all of the ingredients and key baking steps.

Last night before I cooked dinner I decide to make them for dessert. It was more of "in case they don't turn out I would hate to serve them for breakfast" attempt. It's always better to practice something before you serve it to others. Don't ya think?

So without further ado, I present to you the BEST EVER Homemade Orange Rolls.  They are probably one of the easiest things I have ever baked and they rank in the top 3 for taste! Just picture the most amazing food you have ever eaten and times it by 10 100! That's how great these are (and I am NOT a fan of orange rolls).  The best part is that they are small and easy to serve. It's like pull apart bread. They are just perfect for little ones.

And because I like visuals...

What you Need:

1 Can of Butter Milk Jumbo Biscuits (8 count)
2-3 tbsp of melted butter
2 Medium size oranges (used for zest & juice)
1/3 Cup Sugar
1/3 Cup Powdered Sugar
1/2 block of Original Cream Cheese (do not use the low-fat)
Optional: 1/4 cup walnuts

PREHEAT: 350*

1- Grease a round baking pan and place 1 jumbo biscuit in the center.

2- Slice all 7 remaining biscuits in half. Put them in the pan around the center one to make a flower design. You will need to squish them close together to make them all fit.  *Spoon your melted butter over the biscuits just to give them a little glaze.

3- Zest two oranges (though I used a zester, I have been known in the past to use a cheese grater. It works just the same. You should end up with about 2 tbsp of Orange zest.

4- Mix together your 1/3 cup sugar, 2 tbsp orange zest and add your walnuts if you choose. Otherwise, the sugar and the zest it all you need.

5- Sprinkle your mix over the biscuits and bake for 20 mins at 350*.

6- Mix together your 1/3 cup Powdered Sugar and your 1/2 block cream cheese.  Squeeze 1/2 of an orange into the mixture to give it a light orange flavor. -OH SO GOOD-
*You can put the cream cheese in the microwave to soften.  It really doesn't matter how soft it gets.

7- Take out of oven

8- Spread your icing over the rolls when they come out of the oven.

9- Serve with left over orange slices for breakfast or as a dessert.
When you make them (because I know you can resist) let me know just how much you loved them!

And don't forget about the giveaway going on at Spit Happens.
Beach Barn is sponsoring the giveaway and is creating a Custom Baby Basket just for you! It ends Sunday so don't miss your chance.
