Prepping for Bikini Season? Here's a few tips...
I have run across several ladies lately that are trying to eat healthy & tone up for their "itsy-bitsy-teeny-weeny-yellow-polka-dot-bikini".
Because I know you want my two-cents, I decided to share a few tips that I love to do when I am in a pinch to get back on track.
Tip 1:
If you eat cereal in the morning for breakfast this tip is for you. Obviously the healthier the cereal the better but it's not 100% necessary. All you need is about 5 minutes.
First you need to check the serving size on the box. (sometimes it has oz. as well as cup measurements).
Take your measuring glass and measure out the serving size. Store each serving in it's own zip-loc.
When it's breakfast time all you need to do is grab a baggy, measure out your milk and serve. It's nice to have everything measured out in advance. Makes things so much quicker and MUCH healthier.
TIP 2:
Eat with the small size spoon in the drawer. Normally I like the larger ones, but I have found it helpful to switch to the small ones. This way I make a conscious effort to chew each bite throughly.
TIP 3:
Anything that is not a liquid base food serve it on a Salad Plate. This will keep your portions in perspective and equal to your stomach size. You will not over eat.
Tip 4:
If you eat meat... weigh it before serving.
On avg. you should only eat about 3oz per serving.
If you do not have a food scale you may be able to purchase one at the Dollar Tree. That's is where I purchased mine and it works GREAT!
TIP 5:
If you are looking to "Anti-Bloat" give up the following items for 4 days.
- Salt -- Because it retains excess water in your body
- Gum -- whether you know it or not you inadvertently swallow air which in turns gets trapped in your tummy.
- Soda/Carbination -- Nuff said right?
- Raw Veggies -- You can steam them instead. They digest easier when steamed but cause gasses when eaten raw.
- Broccoli, Beans, etc (anything that may cause excess gasses) -- I think you get the idea.
Obviously I have more, but I didn't want to overwhelm you with them. Instead I would rather you try some of these out if you want and let me know what you think.
Also... here is an amazing little snack that I am loving these days.
7 Strawberries (give or take depending on size)
2 Tbsp Chopped Almonds
a slight drizzle of this heavenly Raspberry Lime Vinaigrette.
Leave me a comment with your tips... I'm always up for new ones myself.

Thank you for these tips. They are great! I will definitely be taking your advice on some of them. I try to brush my teeth right after dinner (sounds funny) because then I won't be tempted to snack the rest of the night. I also eat a handful of almonds around 10am in between breakfast and lunch and try to eat fruit first thing when I wake up as I heard it's best to eat it on an empty stomach. :)
Great tips! The only one I have is that when I'm having a sweet tooth, after talking myself out of eating a pint of ice cream or cookies, I try to grab a fiber one bar instead. The oats and chocolate ones taste just like a candy bar!
Wow! You are on top of it girl! There is nothing I can do about the weight I'm about to put on and I'm so not looking forward to beach weather. I can however dream of next year! ;)
YUM Ive got to try the strawberry thing!
where do you get that dressing?
These are great! I never thought about using the smaller plate. So smart!
