Project Cook Has Been Completed :::over and out:::

 Kitchen Make Over

Some of you may remember when I posted about "Project Cook". It was more of creative way to share with you that I was going to give my kitchen a make-over. Well... it's finally finished.  I am not 100% satisfied with the outcome, but it will most definitely do for the time being.

Our original plan for the make-over included...

- New paint color
- New cabinet color
- Cabinet Hardware
- New Floors
- New Countertops
- and a few pieces of new decor

In the end we got everything except the new countertops and this amazing little console table that I wanted to put in there. I guess you get what you get.

[The colors in the kitchen were Orange & Green. All of the stuff on top of the cabinets had been thrown up there over the years when I had no other place to put them].

[The colors are now Brown, White and Sage. The "stuff" on the top has been organized].

[Pretty Self Explanatory- or at least I think so]

[Clean, Simple and open]

[ I felt like I needed something about the stove and I found this little sign for 50% off at hobby Lobby. Cost: $7
I bought a package of towels at Ross for $4 and tied them with ribbon that I had in my collection].

[I bought these cute little containers at Hobby Lobby for 50% off as well].
Cost for both: $11

[I made the curtains after seeing them HERE & I bought and installed a new light fixture that hangs over the sink].

[I got this Bowl at Goodwill for $2 and the moss at Pier 1 for $1]

[I recovered the Valance that I had in the attic ... it came with the house when we bought it.  Cost: $6.99
I got new place mats from Ikea. Cost: $1.99 each.
The mirror was given to me from my mother in law (Free) & and stencil I order on Etsy for $23.
NOTE: I will be posting a separate post about the Mirror tomorrow with more information and the Etsy Details.

[I bought the cross at Ross for $3 and spray painted it white]

[New Hardware]

[Cabinet Pulls. Nothing Fancy]

[Drawer Pulls. Total Cost for ALL hardware: $90 ]

[I saw this craft here & and I just had to make it for the Kitchen]

All in all I did what I could (all by myself might I add) while Baby K was sleeping. That included all of the trips to the store, the crafts along with the paint & install.  During the process we made friends with Paul over at Home Depot, Marley over at Goodwill and a few others at random places.

Also, it turns out I will not get to share our other Big News with you [at least for another month or so unless things change]. Doesn't it always happen that way??  Apparently we  have 99.9% of the Big News, but we have to wait until we have the full 100% to share. And for those of you that have asked... it does not involve adoption.  Now if that doesn't make it more interesting...

I'm more interested to learn your news especially now that I know it isn't about adoption.

The kitchen looks AMAZING! Seriously. I am so impressed. I absolutely love the finished product. Great job.
I've been wanting to do something with our cabinets in our kitchen for so long but I just don't think sanding them and all the work is worth it in the house we are in. We hopefully won't be there in a couple years.

What an amazing makeover, I love it. I love little accent lamps on kitchen counters, I just got one for our counter from Target last week.
