{Craft} $6 Cupcake Stand

As you know, we just recently celebrated my son's first birthday. I spent several weeks planning his party and working on crafts! After all..... I am a craftepreneur.

Today I am featuring the Cup Cake Stand that I made. I'll admit it... it is easy and cheap {which I assure you, is the complete opposite of me, I promise}.

The cupcake stand is made using the following items:
  • 3 White Ceramic Plates {Dollar Tree} $3
  • 3 Glass Candle Sticks {Dollar Tree} $3
  • Spray Paint & Primer {I had at home} Free
  • Glass Pebble embellishments {I had at home} Free
  • Hot Glue {I had at home} Free

Total Cost: $6

Now for the How-To

Begin by spray painting your ceramic plates the color of your choice. Please note that I did not use primer on the plates, as they were white to begin with.  Also.. be sure and paint the bottom of the plates. You want to make sure that everything is nicely coated.

Next you will want to paint the candle sticks. Since these candle sticks are glass, you DO need to use a coat of primer on them before your spray paint your color.  It definitely makes the color stick... and look better too.

After everything is completely dry, you can begin assembling the cupcake stand.

IMPORTANT: Begin by hot gluing only ONE candle stick to ONE plate. Once it is dry you can start adorning it with any type of embellishment your heart so desires.

NOTE: Decorating each "mini stand" is much easier than decorating it as a three tiered stand.

After each mini stand is decorated, you can complete the assembly process.

Be careful to center each candle stick over one another so that the Cupcake Stand is balanced.

Wha La! That's it. Simple, Easy and Cheap! Told ya!
The possibilities for decor are endless. I plan to make several more {and spend a little more time on them}.

{If you make a cupcake stand, please leave a comment and let me know. I'd love to feature you on Life in the Dub Lane}.

I hope to see you all again tomorrow for another Party Craft! This is only the beginning!

Also, check out the party over on Project Nursery {click here}. If you are registered give us a vote while you are there!
