End Table... Before & After

I wanted to share the small end table that I made for the Craft Room. I had a lot of emails about it. It was not purchased that way so I figured that I would let you in on the How-To!

It all started with this end table that I bought at Goodwill for $10.

$10 was a bit too much in my opinion, but it was solid and in good condition. I had other plans for it,  but in the end, I decided that it would be a great addition to e.b. designs studios.

There is nothing that a little paint and scrapbook paper can not make fabulous!

After I sanded it down I gave it a nice coat of black Spray Paint.  It needed a good primer (and it was just easier to use spray paint).

I then used Green Apple Rustoleum spray paint for the top color.  Once that was dry, I touched up the black with actual paint and brush.

I then took 2 sheets of zebra scrap paper and cut them in half. I used ModPodge to secure them to the table and  a craft blade to cut around the edges.

I gave it a nice coat of ModPodge. After allowing it to dry completely, I gave the entire table a few coats of poly for extra protection.

All done! It was super easy and I LOVE the new look!

Sophie's Closet Review & Giveaway!

GIVEAWAY CLOSED!

Totally excited about sharing this store with you all!

I recently had the honor of receiving a  Hand Stamped Bracelet for Kyah. I have been wanting one since before he was born but I never could find the right price or style that I wanted.  I am happy to say that not only have I found the perfect bracelet at the perfect price, but she has a variety of styles that I will be going back for!

Sohpie's Closet offers custom, hand stamped Baby Jewelry for Boys & Girls!
Not to mention Sophiescloset was selected by Child Style Magazine as " and Etsy find to be in love with"!  And her adorable baby bangle was selected by parenting. com and Etsy as one of their "great baby shower gift ideas".

Sohiescloset offers the following but is not limited to:

  • Silver Baby Bangles
  • Leather Bracelets for those precious little boys
  • Bracelet with Chain (pictured above)
  • Necklaces....

What I LOVE about these bracelets is the fact that they are extremely durable! With little ones you can never be too cautious about stuff like that. In addition, the edges are very smooth and do not irritate Kyah's sweet baby skin at all. In fact, I don't even think he knows he's wearing it. He checked it out when I put it on him and then went about his playing.  The best part... it's ADORABLE!  It's the perfect addition to his "Summer" look! I could not be more than thrilled with this bracelet and I'm pretty sure that I will be back to order more! Can anyone say "leather".....

My Fur Babies

I have become a complete Furry baby Failure.  Because I am always blogging about our human baby I have neglected to share with you all, Cohen and Jaycee. They are our wonderful, amazing, incredible, loving and cute fur babies.

Meet Sir Cohen Brady

Cohen was our "first born" and was welcomed into the family after we were married only 6 weeks. We both came from homes that had dogs and it just wasn't home without one.

This little rugrat gave us a run for our money. He was by far the worst puppy on the planet (Marely anyone?). Lucky for us, Kyah has been a breeze compared to this little guy.  We had sleepless nights for about 3 months straight. He was one of those puppies that you take outside and walk for 2 hours and then right when you walk in the door he pees on the carpet. Yeah.. that was him. He chewed everything to shreds and yelped and howled all day while we were at work. How do we know this... because the neighbor called us over one day and informed us that he couldn't even watch his TV because Cohen was so loud. Sure enough.. I put a video camera out and recored him. No lie... he howled and yelped the ENTIRE time we were gone.

Luckily for us, he is now the worlds biggest sweet heart and a very good dog.  Life just would not be the same without him.  Granted... he IS daddy's boy.

Meet Jaycee Ann
Jaycee is a mommy's girl. She was also my 21st birthday present. She came into our family 6 months after Cohen at only 5 weeks old. She and Cohen are exactly 6 months apart to the day.

This picture was too fun not to share...

Jaycee was a bit of a hot head when she was little.  She liked to growl and snip at you if she was angry about something. Eventually she outgrew it and she is now a big ole' teddy pup.  In addition, she never went potty in the house. Not once. She learned from her big brother how to potty outside and just knew what was good for her.

Now they are all grown up and loving being a big brother and a big sister.

And while I am on the topic of my fur babies...  I will mention that they even get their own stocking each Christmas. It's filled with new toys, collars, treats, bones and everything else doggie related. New collars at Christmas is our Puppy Tradition.  For their first Christmas I made them each a stocking that matched their fur color.  I plan to make more Custom Dog Stockings to put in my Etsy Store.  If are you interested be sure and let me know. I'd be delighted to make one for your fur baby!

Does it get any better?

Family nights could not get any better!
I know, I know... I say that now but in reality I assume that they just keep getting better and better.

The other night Kyah decided that he was not going to sleep. He was so happy and awake that he just giggled and giggled every time we laid him down. He laid in his bed rolling around, talking, squealing, clapping and just having a good ole' time. Of course, this mommy wants to enjoy it. He never stays awake when we lay him down for bed, so I took the opportunity to have some family time while we were all awake and in high spirits.

Oh the joys of being a FAMILY!

DROOL MONSTER!

Of course, anyone that has ever been around a baby knows that they drool.  But seriously, there are days that I truly consider calling Genisis! This dude can drool like Niagara Falls! I guess that's what you get when you are cutting a gazillion  4-6 teeth at the same time.

Granted these pictures do not do it justice (because I just put the shirt on him about 2 minutes before I took these pictures) but really....

And for a little humor, of which I thought was funny at the time.... when in reality I am just proving how big of a dork I really am.

Oompa Toys -Bath Book Shark by Haba REVIEW & GIVEAWAY!

GIVEAWAY CLOSED

Recently we were sent the Bath Book Shark by Haba from

Now you have the chance to own one yourself!
I'm not going to fib here... it took a few weeks for Kyah to notice it. It was not a "love at first sight" sort of deal. It was probably due to the age range being 1 1/2+.  But... one day he noticed the Bath Book and the rest is history!

He LOVES looking at all of the colorful pictures...

While Mommy makes up a story to go along with each of them...

He LOVES to open and close the accordion like book and watch how it gives him a new picture each time. To him it's like Magic!

He will flip the pages back and forth, back and forth and back and forth!

And of course.... this is ALWAYS were it ends up!

Other reasons Mommy Loves the Bath book:
  • It's WATERPROOF!
  • It's SOFT!
  • The edges are nice and smooth so that it will not scratch him.
  • Because it's fun to see him having so much fun hitting it as it FLOATS on the water!
  • It TEACHES him how things operate (with the accordion like features).
  • It gives me an opportunity to entertain him with my silly STORIES!

Not only do you get a book but you also get a Bath Shark with the book!  It's the great classic, squeeze toy that fills with water and then you quirt it out as your little squeals with pure glee and excitement!  (I think it must tickle)...

And because Oompa Toys offers a HUGE selection of innovative toys made by many manufactures, it would only be fair for me to share a few of my other favorites with you.

Palette Plate Multi from Skip Hop $27.99
Zoo Lunchies, Owl from Skip Hop $12.99
Wooden Spanish Alphabet Blocks - 28 pc from Uncle Goose $36.99

Are these not the most incredible toys!   I am crazy about these blocks!!! I can not wait for Kyah to get a little bit older. I will most definitely be shopping! Oompa has everything from Baby Teethers, to toddler toys, to furniture, doll houses, puzzles, strollers, diaper bags, feeding, bathing... you name it. They have it!
