Before & After: Patio Chairs {with an amazing secret}

There is nothing better than finding a good deal and making it better.

I found these two chairs at Goodwill for $4.99 each.  Cha-ching!  They were in great condition, just not very pretty. Pictures do not do it justice. They.were.bad. Especially the fabric. Ick.

I had a quart of "ooops" paint that I found at The Deeps {home depot} for $1.  Not sure of the color, but it's a nice light blue. Almost white.

TIP: Most of you probably know this, but anytime you are in The Deeps or Lowes be sure and look at their ooops paint. It's usually at the "door" of their little paint station areas. Just ask someone that works there if you can't find it. They'll point you in the right direction.  The ooopsy paint is so cheap. A gallon usually runs no more than $5.  I buy more quarts for $1.

So, back to my project. Well... more like a before and after since I lazied out and didn't do a tutorial.

After a nice coat of paint {and three coats of spray poly-acrylic}, some distressing here and there, and a little staple gun action to hold the new pretty green quatrefoil fabric on; I have me some new pretties to sit on my patio!

Aren't they so cute! They add just a touch of shabby-chicness.

Here's an up close of the whole chair.

I'm not sure if you are ready for this, but I am about to tell you a humongo secret that will change your life forever. Ready?

The dealio: I wanted to distress the chair leaving a tint of green on the wood.
What I did: I took a can of my favorite green spray paint and lightly sprayed a sheet of sandpaper.  I let it dry completely {about 5 minutes just to be sure}.   When I distressed the edges of my chair, it left behind a green tint on the surrounding edges. I love!
{look close and you can see it}

Is it just me or are you loving green and blue together this spring too?
