Kyah's 18 Month Update

My son is a year and a half old.  My son is a year and a half old.  WOW! I had to type that twice to let it sink in.

Time has flown by so incredible fast. These past 6 months {from his first birthday to now} have been filled with moving, settling in, travels and fun!  Time has gotten away from us a bit I suppose.
He is growing like a weed. Tall and lean like mom and dad. He is 35" tall and 27.5 lbs.  It was cute and sad to see him stand at the wall chart and not lay down to be measured. He was adorable standing there tall and straight.
I know I always miss a bazillion things, but here is what I can remember from this last month.

What he can say:
- Still says a number of words that I can count. Not a huge vocabulary, but enough that we can communicate on some sort of level.  A few of his favorites: Outside, Dada, Mama, Cohen {our dog}, Jayja Gur {Jaycee Girl-our dog}, Fan, Fish, Please, More, Slide, What's That, wow, oh {instead of uh oh, it's just oh}, Nana, Apple, balloon, moo, elfant {elephant}.
- He has learned how to say A.B.C.D. After that he claps for himself and says "yay".

What he has Mastered:
- He has mastered the spoon feeding {just recently I might add}.  It's so sweet to see those little hands fill a little spoon and take it up to a little mouth.
- He will repeat anything that I do. Just the other day I was ironing. I would let him near me {cause it's hot and all} and he stood back watching.  After a few minutes he went and got my old hand mixer. It didn't have any "attachments" on it so I guess he assumed it was another iron. He grabbed a shirt from his dirty laundry and started "ironing" with the hand mixer. My heart just melts at stuff like that.
- He is also good at catching a football. He's been doing this for a few months, but it's till cute.
His Hobbies {or lack of}:
- He has quit dancing. I never thought the day would come but it has. He will only dance in the car.  I noticed this about a week ago. One day he danced, then the next day he didn't.
- He loves to sing. He will sing his own songs sometimes and then clap and say "yay" afterwards.
- He loves to sing Patty Cake and do all the hand motions. He tries the "spider" motion in Itsy Bitsy Spider. So adorable!
- He still loves the outdoors and would still live there if I would let him.
-  He is starting to like cars. He has never been a huge fan of them, but now he seems to really enjoy them. Not for long periods of time, but enough.
- He love playing basketball. He's getting good at this free throw shot.
- Loves, Loves, Loves, reading books.
- Stacking blocks is a huge past time. The most adorable thing about stacking blocks is the "Wow" that follows each one. He's so impressed with himself. ha
- Watching Baby Einstein. Only  Baby Neptune though. He doesn't like anything else. Still haven't found a tv show that he will watch either. He is NOT a TV watcher.
- Running! Oh my goodness. This child loves to run. He puts his little hands up to his chest and takes off. Cutness!

His Schedule:
- Wakes up at 7:30-8am every morning.
- Eats Breakfast
- Play Time for a few hours
- Eats a morning snack {normally fruit} and has some juice
- Nap at 12pm and sleeps until 3pm. {somedays it only 2-2.5 hours depending}.
- Lunch when he wakes
- More play time
- Bath at 6:30-7pm
- Bedtime 7-7:30pm {this usually depends on the time he wakes in the morning or if we had to go somewhere in the evening}.

This little boy has stolen every ounce of our heart and we wouldn't have it any other way!

He is too cute. Looks like oldest. I wish he had that much hair when he was 18 months though.
