Trash to Treasure: Teal Patio Table

I'm a girl of many passions, primarily anything with a creative outlet.  I'm addicted to "thrifting". I'm also addicted to giving new life and purpose to things that have been retired by others.

Everyone that comes to my home asks me the same question: "Where did you get that?"
My reply: "Goodwill or some other "treasure store" as I like to call them".

With so many people asking the same question I decided that I would start sharing my treasures on facebook. The feedback has been incredible and the emails that I get telling me that I have inspired them to get creative and stay frugal has lead me here. To share them with you on my blog.

I'm currently on a mission to make my house a home. I have decided that it's time I bring you guys along for the ride and show you what I am doing.

I'll be posting some of my finds in the coming weeks but I wanted to start here. A simple table re-do for the work-in-progress patio.

I purchased this table at Goodwill for $7. With a little help from Martha Stewart's paint sample at Lowes, I have a new table for the patio.

I knew that I wanted a teal colored table and this was the perfect shade.
I opted to buy a $2.49 sample/tester bottle of paint vs. a $13 quart.
I still had some left over and I gave the entire table a nice heavy coat.
That my friends was a smart move.

I used my power sander to go over the top of the table to distress a bit.
Then I sealed it with three coats of poly acrylic to make sure that it can withstand outdoor climates.

The end result:
A perfect little teal table for the patio.

The best part:
It only cost me $9.49
