Fun. Simple. Homemade Puffy Paint.

This was so fun. Perfect for a day stuck in the house!

It was a little messy when working with a 21 month old, but super easy to clean up.  We put a sheet in the kitchen floor, a large bowl of water to rinse hands and a cup towel that could be stained to dry our hands.

We painted lots of pictures!

WHAT YOU NEED:
 Self Rising Flour
 Salt
Food Coloring
Cupcake pan or other small bowls to mix "paint"

HOW TO:
I used a cupcake pan to make it easier. You can use separate containers. Whatever works best for you. If you have multiple kids, separate bowls might work better.

You will mix together 1 tbsp of Self Rising Flour with 1 tbsp Salt {equal parts} into each cupcake tin or small bowl.  Add a few drops of food coloring to each batch.

Add just enough water to make a paste. You don't want it too thick, but you don't want a water consistency either. I'm sure you will be able to "feel" it.  Mommies know this kind of thing.

After you paint your picture, put it in the microwave and cook for 7-10 seconds.  Never "cook" longer than 10 second intervals. It could burn or even worse... catch fire.  We never exceeded 10 seconds for any of our paintings.
Is that little hand print not the most adorable little thing in this whole wide world!

 Enjoy your little masterpieces!
