Fitness Challenge Beginning 9/5 {you will want to be in on this}.

Alright ladies... I know that this is the first thing that you want to think about on your Friday {or throughout the weekend} but let's face it. Everyone wants a better body. Yes? Yes.

I have been thinking about this for weeks now, mainly because I have been using a particular workout DVD and it sparked the idea. I have had lots of friends ask me about it and by golly, I'm sharing it with you all too. Why not. I know I don't blog about my fitness {as in ever} but I figured now would be as good a time as any.

Everyone knows that I had a 10lb baby. If you didn't, now you do.  I was blessed when I walked away without any stretch marks, but I still had weight to lose and skin to tone. That's a given no matter what. Any mom can confess to that.

When I was given the "go ahead" to work out, I jumped in head first and started with P90X. I did what I could, but let's face it. That was hard work. I made it as far as 3 weeks and stopped. It was giving me headaches and took way too long. I didn't have 1.5 hours/6 days a week to workout. I had a baby.

I moved on to the 30 Day Shred. It was fun and it helped, but you can only do it so long. These were the results.

I was pleased, but knew I needed something more.

2010 was a busy year. We relocated to a new city, enjoyed the first year of our son's life and settled into a new house. Not to mention tons of travels.

When things finally settled down, I got to workout again.  I was introduced to my new best friend, Brook Benten. She's a fitness guru that trains hardcore and produces DVD's for GoFit. She has not only been an inspiration and a motivator, but she is the worlds greatest friend.  She has pushed me to be a better person and I want to share the love.

While this is still a work in progress, I'm going to try and get it out there to as many people as possible before I begin the fitness challenge.

While I am no pro {by any means of the word}, I am a mom. I am a woman and I want to be fit. Not only do I want to be fit, I want results fast. I also want it to be fun and most of all, I love a challenge and I thrive on accountability.
This is me now. July 2011.
So what am I proposing?  A Kettlebell Fitness Challenge.  I'm sure you all know kettle bells are the "new thing". Even though they have been around for years, many are just getting into it. It's easy {if a workout can be easy} and it's nice to your joints. Ah! For a gal that has knee problems that is a huge plus.  I worked out with this new series for 5 weeks prior to the photo above. While I will still lacking 3 weeks, this was great considering I had not worked out for months prior.

I'll share more details soon, but here's a quick overview so that you can know a little about what's to come.

Challenge: {set to begin September 5th}
The {3 set} DVD series that we will be using:
Kettlebody By Brook {purchase directly CardioPump}
Cost: $30. That's around $10 per DVD.
About the Workout Series:
This 3-DVD, 6 day/week program is intended to transform your body in 8-weeks.
Each DVD is approx. 30 minutes in length.

Equipment Needed:
The only equipment you'll need is one kettle bell and a yoga mat {or the carpet in your living room}. I recommend using the Contoured Kettlebells from Target, made by Go-Fit. They are much more comfortable and "contour" to your wrists... very important.  If you have never used a kettle-bell before, please only purchase a 10lb kettle bell. It will give you the workout that you need. Trust me!
Requirements for Blog Participation:
There will be a weekly LinkUp for you to post your progress.
It would be best if you wore the same outfit in each picture and had a solid background.
Form fitting/figure hugging clothes are best to see progress.
**This is more for you than anyone else. It's always nice to be able to see how far you have come.
The link up will be each Sunday {as that is your day off}.
Details regarding link rules will be posted as we get closer to the start date.

At the end of the 8 weeks, there will be a nice award for the TWO participants that achieved the greatest results. One participant will be chosen by Brook Benten herself and the other will be chosen by Readers Choice.  You have no idea how excited I am about this.  You do not have to be a follower of my blog to participate. This is strictly to help motivate you and get you looking and feeling your best. It's always nice to have a little competition mixed in as well.

Please share with your friends and family and let's make some Hotties!.

IMPORTANT: If you know for fact that you will be joining up in this challenge, you can make your DVD purchase now.  The challenge will begin on MONDAY September 5th. That's one month from today!

This is for anyone and everyone. You do not need to be a mommy to participate. Just gotta be human... that's the only rule.

So, who's in!

Im interested. I still have to shrink several sizes by december. My sister-in-law already bought the dress which was 7 sizes smaller than what I was. i am down 4 sizes but still have to finish. It would be fun to have the challenge and accountability. Let me know when and where we can sign up.

I just got back to working out consistently after ahem... I just won't say how long!). I've been interested in using a kettleball, so thanks for sharing!

Erin . . . can we still participate if we're not a mom? (If it helps, I'm a teacher . . . so I spend my days with other people's kiddos . . . haha!) I've been struggling to lose weight for the last few years and have been yo-yo-ing (let's pretend that's a word) up and down like crazy . . . but I still haven't gotten anywhere NEAR my goal weight. I'd love to do this challenge with you guys, and I think it would be really good for me to have some accountability! Let me know if I can join. :)

I'm not a Mom either-is it ok if non-mom's join too? If it helps, I was going to suggest it to my mom so we can do it together :-)

I'm not a mom either, but hope to be some day soon. And while hoping, I would like to be in shape. ;) I plan on participating! I'm excited!!!

What a fabulous challenge!! I have been wanting to lose 20-30 lbs yet... and it's so difficult to get motivated! I think this maybe will be my motivation, especially if we can get this to fit in our budget! Thanks for being an inspiration! :)
